Photogrammetry is highly accurate, with a typical accuracy of up to 2cm in ideal conditions. It is also highly precise, with a minimum point spacing of up to 15cm. Photogrammetry is ideal for measuring small to medium-sized objects, such as parcels, and it can quickly create highly detailed 3D models of the objects within the scanned area.

Lidar vs. Photogrammetry: Which is Better?

Both Lidar and Photogrammetry are accurate and precise technologies that can be used to gather data for SCM software. However, each technology has its specific advantages and disadvantages.

Lidar is better suited for large areas and can quickly create highly detailed 3D models of the objects within the scanned area. It is also highly accurate and precise, making it ideal for applications that require high levels of accuracy.

Photogrammetry, on the other hand, is better suited for small to medium-sized objects and can quickly create highly detailed 3D models of the objects within the scanned area. It is also highly accurate and precise, making it ideal for applications that require high levels of accuracy.

In summary, the selection of either Lidar or Photogrammetry depends on the specific application requirements and the resources available.
